Overview

A local tool for studying probability through repeated simulation and hypothesis testing. It observes patterns; it does not predict outcomes.

Why it exists

People see patterns in random draws all the time. Very few check them honestly.

Lotto Lab is a statistical study of random draws: a place to ask whether a pattern holds up — and to accept the answer when it doesn't.

How it works

Before a draw, picks and hypotheses are pre-registered and frozen. After the draw, they are compared with the actual result, and everything is archived.

Repeated simulation and hypothesis tests run on historical draw data, so each claim can be reproduced later from the same inputs.

Core capabilities

  • Repeated simulation

Large numbers of simulated draws to see what chance alone looks like.

  • Hypothesis tests

Simple statistical tests instead of intuition.

  • Pre-registration

Picks are frozen before the draw, then compared with the real result.

  • Result archive

Every run and comparison is kept.

  • Reproducibility

Same data, same settings, same answer.

  • Constellation view

A galaxy-style visualisation of number relationships.

Practical applications

  • Learning what randomness really looks like.
  • Testing a 'pattern' before believing it.
  • Practising honest, pre-registered comparison.

Development journey

  1. Began as a constellation-style visualisation of draw numbers.
  2. Added simulation, hypothesis tests and frozen pre-registration.
  3. 2026-10-10 (developer report): official result auto-collection and missing-draw recovery applied to the source.

Current status & limitations

Implemented

  • Repeated simulation and hypothesis tests
  • Pre-registration and frozen picks
  • Result archive and reproducibility
  • Constellation visualisation (footage on this page)
  • Official result auto-collection + missing-draw recovery — applied to source 2026-10-10

Planned / not yet active

  • Independent operation of auto-collection — not yet verified

Patterns observed are not predictive power. Lotto Lab is not a prediction or winning tool, and no wins are promised.

Future direction

  • Verify auto-collection running on its own.
  • Clearer statistical summaries.
  • Keep the archive reproducible end to end.
